Irene Russolillo | THE SPEECH
THE SPEECH is a chaotic attempt to fill up our personal “empty spaces”. Made of extreme gestures, it speaks to the audience and invites them to read thought and language differently. An invitation that reveals something intimate; a desperate and beautiful call; or maybe just an excuse to show the very raw material of which we are made.
THE SPEECH was made in collaboration with Lisi Estaras, long-time collaborator of Alain Platel/ Les Ballets C de La B.
Irene Russolillo (1982), dance-maker and performer, was awarded the Best Performer Equilibrio prize in 2014. She received the Masdanza Best Performer Prize in 2014 and Prospettiva Danza prize in 2015. As a dancer, she has worked for Micha Van Hoecke, Roberto Castello, Abbondanza/Bertoni, Erdem Gunduz.
